Alejandro Bedoya earned his 62nd cap with the US Men's National Team, but also served as captain for the first time as the USMNT faced off against Panama in the team's first group stage match of the 2017 Gold Cup.
Bedoya played 84 minutes in the match along the right wing and made an impact on the match. Early in the first half, Bedoya forced a Panama turnover and streaked into the box with the ball, looking for Dom Dwyer crashing the net. Bedoya's cross was blocked, but it led to a US corner. The ensuing corner did not lead to a scoring chance.
