As always the East remains a tight race to stay above the red line and this weekend we saw a shakeup for the top three teams in the conference.
NYCFC takes over
NYCFC took over sole possession of first in the East this weekend after their 3-2 win over D.C. United on Thursday night. It was a back and forth match all night long, but thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Frank Lampard, NYCFC was able to seal their victory.
While D.C. United is still seated above the red line they have some close company.
