In the team's match against Colorado Rapids this Saturday, the Union are holding their Military Appreciation Night. Before, during and after the match, the Union will show their appreciation from troops through various outlets. One of those outlets is hosting veteran Tony Yates, who will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" to begin the match.

"Whenever I get the call to sing, I'm always surprised," Yates said. "I'm fortunate that Liberty USO has kept me in mind and put me in touch with different organizations. When I got the call from the Union, I was incredibly excited."

Yates originally enlisted in the Army in 1994, beginning his service as a heavy artillery cannoneer.
