After all the votes had been counted across all the social media platforms for Philadelphia Union, Alejandro Bedoya's touching tribute to Fearless 43's Lucy McCabe has been voted the 2019 Philadelphia Union Celebration of the Year.
The Union's captain paid tribute Lucy after he scored the tying goal on the road in San Jose, a week after Lucy passed away. Upon news of her passing, the Boys in Blue chose to honor Lucy by wearing her initials on their pre-match warm-up tops at New York Red Bulls while Bedoya added the "LM" to his gold captain's armband that was worn in honor of pediatric cancer awareness month.
