2017 Union Year in Review: John McCarthy

2017 was a successful year for John McCarthy has he saw himself set career-highs in a number of categories.

McCarthy's season started in his familiar role of Andre Blake's backup role, where he was for the first three matches of the season. However, McCarthy was forced to miss four games for the Union after suffering a concussion.

On his way back from the concussion, McCarthy started a match for Bethlehem Steel FC before rejoining the Union. McCarthy's first bout of game action came in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, where he earned his first victory of the season.
