2017 was an eventful year for Auston Trusty. It was his first full season as a member of the Union, he traveled across the world to win the U-20 CONCACAF Championship and played in the U-20 FIFA World Cup, and he suited up in a Union kit for the first time.
Trusty's season started when he traveled with the U-20 US Men's National Team to the 2017 U-20 CONCACAF Championships in Costa Rico. Trusty was a part of the defense, playing in the middle as a centerback. He saw his first international start against El Salvador, which the USMNT won 2-1 to advance to the championship match and clinching a spot in the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
