What’s today’s attendance? Phillies relievers are playing new game in bullpen

PHILADELPHIA — For the past few years, Phillies relievers have played a game out there in the bullpen. When one of the pitchers thinks a teammate will hit a home run, he can throw his hat down to call it. They keep tabs on who’s the best at predicting the homers.

Recently, the bullpen has added another friendly competition into the mix at Citizens Bank Park.

It all started when the relief pitchers looked into the upper decks and wondered how many fans were at the ballpark earlier this week. They tried to see which guy could take the best crack at guessing the attendance.
