PHILADELPHIA — Walker Buehler joined his new teammates in the Phillies clubhouse and threw in powder blue and maroon gear in the outfield. After being released by the Boston Red Sox in the midst of an unsuccessful season, the two-time All-Star pitcher will try to play a role for a team with championship aspirations in Philadelphia.

“I think the biggest thing is just trying to fit in,” Buehler said Thursday from the first-base dugout at Citzens Bank Park. “Obviously, this rotation is deep and talented, and something that I hope I can contribute in some way and kind of get back on my feet a little bit and hopefully capture a good month and a half here and help us win this thing.
