The Philadelphia Phillies (37-23) opened their series north of the border with an 8-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays (31-29) on Tuesday night to put their four game skid to bed.
The offense pounced on Jays’ starter, Bowden Francis, by batting around and scoring six in the opening frame of the game.
It couldn’t have started any worse for Francis, who issued a four-pitch leadoff walk to Bryson Stott before surrendering back to back home runs by Trea Turner and Bryce Harper.
