Rhys outslugs Aguilar, falls short of Derby final

Just call him the bracket buster.

Rhys Hoskins entered the T-Mobile Home Run Derby as the No. 8 seed in the field of eight, but he took down No. 1 seed Jesus Aguilar with a dizzying dinger display of 17 first-round homers to Aguilar's 12. Hoskins beat his first-round mark by slugging 20 home runs in Round 2, but fell short of advancing to the finals when Kyle Schwarber answered with 21.

Hoskins might not be accustomed to leadoff duties, but he seemed to relish the role on a night in which he was the first player to step to the plate.
