PHILADELPHIA — Rhys Hoskins had an uneventful Friday night back at Citizens Bank Park for his second time as a visiting player. On Saturday afternoon, the Brewers slugger made up for it, twice over.
Hoskins blasted two three-run home runs against his former club in a blowout 17-7 win over the Phillies. He smacked a fastball on the outer edge of the plate for his first homer to left-center field in the top of the first inning, putting Milwaukee ahead by four runs before Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo had even recorded a single out. The first baseman then hit another bomb off the left-hander in the fourth inning to put the Brewers up by 11 in front of a frustrated Philly crowd.
