REPORT: Phillies sign Didi Gregorius

The Phillies have made another signing this offseason, coming to terms with former Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius on a 1 year deal.

After the team nontendered Cesar Hernandez, it became apparent that the infield was going to undergo some change and boy does this qualify. Gregorius has been the Yankees’ shortstop for the past 5 years, hitting .269/.313/446. He was a solid glove at the six and will likely supplant Jean Segura there. Where Segura goes from here remains to be seen (most likely second base), but you can be sure that it will be Didi there at shortstop on Opening Day.
