Report: Angels sign Jordan Romano to major league contract

Former Phillies reliever Jordan Romano has a new team.

He has reportedly signed with the Los Angeles Angels for one-year, $2 million, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Romano, 32, is looking to rebound after a poor season with the Phillies. In 49 appearances, Romano posted an 8.23 ERA. Signed to a one-year, $8.5 million deal in December 2024, the Phillies hoped that Romano would be a reliable arm in the backend of the bullpen a year removed from a major injury. To say it didn’t work out would be putting it mildly.

Romano will be remembered for his numerous blow ups late in game, from the six-run ninth inning against the Marlins in April to the inside-the-park walk-off home run against the Giants in July.
