Realmuto opens NLDS scoring with two-run triple off Ohtani

It wasn’t a walk-off, but J.T. Realmuto got Citizens Bank Park rocking against the Dodgers in almost the same part of the ballpark that Jimmy Rollins did in 2009.

Realmuto’s two-run triple off Shohei Ohtani put the Phillies up a pair in the second inning of NLDS Game 1 on Saturday. With Alec Bohm (walk) and Brandon Marsh (single) on, Realmuto flipped a center-cut, 100.2-mph from the likely NL MVP into right-center.

It looked like a double, or maybe even a single, off the bat. But Teoscar Hernández, not exactly known for his defense, pulled up as he approached the ball in right-center, allowing it to get through and Realmuto to get to third.
