Journey with me back in time to opening day 2023. Propped on my desk was my phone, the game on. Aaron Nola versus Jacob deGrom under the bright March Texas sun. deGrom was the Rangers’ shiny new pitcher meant to help them finally overcome their evil neighbors from Houston. I expected deGrom to keep us scoreless. But our boys surprised me and scored two in the second, and then two in the third, and another run in the fourth and still the Rangers hadn’t been able to score a single run.
