2016 is a throw-away season for the Phillies. You know it, the Phillies know it, and your grandmother knows it. In fact, a disappointing 2016 campaign for the Phils is almost inherent in the design. Pat Gillick preached patience last year, Andy MacPhail reiterated it when he became president, and Matt Klentak used the word discipline as he took the reigns as general manager. They were not suggesting that fans be patient in 2016. They were speaking of 2017, 2018, and perhaps even longer. Unfortunately, in order to be disciplined with this rebuild, time is one of the most important factors in this organization's development.
