Phils Look For Split In LA Behind Severino Gonzalez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Phillies give the ball to rookie right-hander Severino Gonzalez tonight as they look for a split of their four-game series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.

Gonzalez is stepping back into the rotation in place of right-hander Kevin Correia who was designated for assignment this week. The 22-year-old right-hander has gone 3-2 in six MLB starts this season with an 8.28 ERA. This will be his first start in the big leagues since June 28th when he beat Washington. He went 5 1/3 innings in that game and that represents his longest outing as a Phillie this year.
