Phillippe Aumont elects free agency, declines assignment to IronPigs

The last connection to the infamous second Cliff Lee trade has left the Phillies.

Pitcher Phillippe Aumont has declined his assignment to the IronPigs and has elected to become a free agent. He was the last of the three minor league prospects Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro obtained from Seattle for Lee in December, 2009, after the Phillies traded for Toronto's Roy Halladay.

Also obtained in the deal was right hander J.C. Ramirez, who appeared briefly in the majors for the Phillies before being outrighted off the roster after the 2013 season, and outfielder Tyson Gillies, who never played in the majors and was released last June.
