DENVER - The final three games at Coors Field will each serve as the final touches of the first half for three of the Phillies' young starting pitchers.
Vince Velasquez - who started Friday night's game - had a chance to end his first half with his third consecutive strong start since being activated from the disabled list. He entered Friday with two earned runs in his last 11 innings as he looked to rediscover the success he had in the beginning of the season. His innings will be monitored in the second half as it is unlikely Velasquez stays in the rotation for the duration of the season.
