PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies won a totally normal game that went off the rails late.
After a pretty unfortunate sequence for Orion Kerkering that saw a three-run lead become a one-run deficit, the Phillies scored two in the ninth with the help of one of the culprits that led to the messy top of the ninth. Johan Rojas, whose terrible play in center field led to the bad inning, hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
Bryson Stott, who had pinch hit in the ninth, scored the winning run on a Kyle Finnegan wild pitch. He laid on the ground in pain after sliding home safely.
