Phillies’ Trea Turner exits with hamstring injury under suspicious circumstances

In the top of the seventh inning at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner took himself out of the game with an injury. The Phillies quickly confirmed via Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer that Turner exited the contest with a right hamstring strain.

Turner, who has rarely missed a start this season, had a rest day during Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins. That came after he was seen running somewhat gingerly during Friday's game. Per Ty Daubert of Phillies Nation, Rob Thomson insisted that it was a planned day off, saying that he wanted to, “just get him off the turf for a day.
