Phillies to start Aaron Nola in do-or-die NLDS Game 3

PHILADELPHIA — Aaron Nola has logged 10 career postseason starts for the Phillies and manager Rob Thomson over the past few Octobers, pitching in some of the biggest games in recent franchise history. He’s taken the mound in Phillies wins from the Wild Card round all the way to the World Series. In a bit of a leap of faith, Thomson will bet on that track record over the right-hander’s 2025 performance as Philadelphia prepares for a do-or-die Game 3 of the National League Division Series.

The veteran Nola, not left-hander Ranger Suárez, will start the elimination game on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, Thomson announced Monday following his club’s 4-3 Game 2 loss to Los Angeles.
