Phillies to sign former All-Star pitcher Walker Buehler, per report

The Phillies are reportedly making a move to add a notable name to their pitching staff.

The club has an agreement to sign right-hander Walker Buehler, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney. Buehler, 31, is a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, but has a 5.42 over the past two seasons since returning from his second career Tommy John surgery.

The eight-year veteran had a solid postseason run last October with the Dodgers and closed out the World Series out of the bullpen, but he struggled after signing a one-year deal with the Red Sox before this season.
