Despite a limited budget this offseason the Phillies made two splashes early in the free agent market, signing Zack Wheeler and Didi Gregorius to fill major holes on their roster.
Wheeler will give the Phillies a solid one-two punch with Aaron Nola atop the rotation and Gregorius will be a solid bat and defender at shortstop looking to prove himself on a one-year contract.
Philadelphia has only a couple million dollars left before hitting the luxury tax, barring a trade of Jean Segura or Vince Velasquez to clear salary for another big addition.
