The Phillies announced they signed right-handed reliever Zach Pop to a one-year major-league contract on Monday.
Pop, 29, pitched for three organizations last year, and mostly pitched in the minor leagues. In the minors, he appeared in 20 games and tossed 19 1/3 innings to the tune of a 4.09 ERA. In five big league appearances — four with the Mariners and one with the Mets — Pop allowed 11 earned runs on 15 hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Throughout his career, Pop has appeared in 163 games in the majors for six teams; he has a career 4.
