Phillies manager Gabe Kapler told reporters at a press conference Thursday that there is a possibility of Maikel Franco and Scott Kingery competing for playing time at third base this spring in Clearwater.
When asked, Kapler said that the team is definitely considering the idea of a competition for the starting job between the two: [quote via Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia]
“Those are conversations that we’re having right now,” Kapler said Wednesday. “There is some competition at third base and that’s a conversation that I’ll have with Mikey and I’ll have with Scott.
