Prior to Friday’s game against the Cardinals, the Phillies payed tribute to future Hall of Famer and Cardinals legend Albert Pujols, who is playing in Philadelphia for the final time in his career.
Ryan Howard and Rhys Hoskins presented Pujols with a St. Louis out-of-town scoreboard sign from Citizens Bank Park. Howard and Pujols finished 1-2 in National League MVP voting in 2006.
Pujols announced he will retire from playing at the end of the 2022 season. He signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract to return to the Cardinals in March.
