One of the few free agent relievers left on the market is David Robertson. Could the Phillies have interest in bringing Robertson back for a third stint with the club?
The Phillies reportedly contacted Robertson prior to the announcement of José Alvarado’s 80-game suspension for PEDs, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. Talks between Robertson, who is self-represented, and the Phillies never got serious.
Robertson, 40, spent last season with the Texas Rangers, where he posted a 3.00 ERA in 72 innings. A 16-year big league veteran, Robertson has been remarkably consistent throughout his career.
