Phillies reportedly attended showcase of veteran reliever

The Philadelphia Phillies were among the teams who attended a showcase that veteran reliever Trevor Rosenthal held in South Florida Tuesday, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

It’s unclear exactly how many teams attended Rosenthal’s showing, with Salisbury hearing “about 18” watched the righty, while Jon Heyman of Audacy Sports says “14 teams attended.”

The good news is that the 32-year-old sat at 95-96 mph during his session. The bad news is that Rosenthal — who didn’t end up pitching at all for the Oakland Athletics in 2021 because of surgeries on both his right shoulder and right hip — had to end his session with a hamstring cramp.
