The Philadelphia Phillies have reinstated outfielder Nick Castellanos from the 10-day injured list. A right oblique strain has kept him off the field since Sept. 2.
In a corresponding move, catcher Donny Sands was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Castellanos took batting practice on the field over the weekend. The Phillies also wanted to get Castellanos on the field in Chicago during the off day Monday. When asked what more he needed to see out of Castellanos to activate him, Rob Thomson said Sunday morning,”Nothing, really. Just make sure he comes out of this stuff.”
Don’t expect Castellanos to play every day from the get go.
