ALLENTOWN, Pa. — In a Triple-A debut that was fitting for a breakout season, Felix Reyes raised his batting average to an outstanding .340 with a 3-for-4 performance in his first game for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs last Tuesday. The right-handed hitter hit a home run that night at Coca-Cola Park and boasted the highest average in all of full-season Minor League Baseball with only five days left to play.
While Reyes kept that No. 1 spot through Thursday, he ultimately couldn’t hold on to win the minor-league batting title when the season ended on Sunday. Cody Freeman, an infielder currently on the Texas Rangers, had a minors-best .
