Philadelphia Phillies minor leaguer Daniel Brito has taken some positive steps after suffering a medical emergency on the field earlier this season, according to the organization.
The Phillies and their Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, made a joint statement on Thursday issuing an update on his progress.
“Earlier this week, Daniel was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Philadelphia,” the teams said. “He has shown progress in his recovery, and while there is still a long road of rehab ahead, his medical staff has marveled at his determination and competitive spirit throughout this process. Daniel’s family asks for privacy as he continues his medical treatments.
