With the 87th pick in the 2020 MLB draft, the Phillies select Casey Martin, a shortstop out of the University of Arkansas. This comes one night after they drafted high school pitcher Mick Abel in the first round of the draft.
Martin, who stands at 5-foot-11, is a right-handed hitter and has shown some pop in his time at Arkansas. The 21-year-old is solid value in the middle of the third round, as he was seen by some, including The Athletic‘s Keith Law, as a top-50 prospect in this year’s draft.
