Phillies Pedro Florimon injury update: Infielder exits early

Less than 24 hours after the Phillies saw Rhys Hoskins foul a ball off his face, infielder Pedro Florimon exited Tuesday night’s game.

Starting at third base and batting second in the lineup, Florimon fouled a Kenta Maeda pitch off his right foot. After getting a look from team assistant athletic trainer Shawn Fcasni and manager Gabe Kapler Florimon finished the at-bat with a shallow fly ball.

Florimon was in clear pain walking back to the dugout as the ball had hit off the top of his foot off the guard.

After Maeda finished off the first inning Florimon did not enter the field at third base, instead being replaced by Maikel Franco, who was scheduled to get a day off.
