Before the Philadelphia Phillies finish their series against the Seattle Mariners with a matinee at T-Mobile Park, here’s a series of updates on the team:
- The Phillies recalled Bailey Falter from Triple-A Lehigh Valley Wednesday, with the 25-year-old lefty slated to toe the rubber for Joe Girardi and company against the Mariners. Falter has a 4.91 ERA in 7 1/3 innings for the Phillies in 2022.
- Outfielder Matt Vierling was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Tuesday’s 5-4 loss to the Mariners. Seemingly, the Phillies could have designated Roman Quinn for assignment and hoped he passed through waivers, but they elected to send Vierling down instead.
