LOS ANGELES — The Phillies placed infielder Edmundo Sosa on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain. The club was hopeful that Sosa would be back in the lineup on Tuesday, but he “still felt it” after a full workout at Dodger Stadium on Monday. Manager Rob Thomson called it a “mild, mild strain.” They are aiming to activate him when his minimum injured list stint is up on Sept. 23. The stint is backdated to Sept. 13.
To take Sosa’s place on the 28-man roster, the Phillies selected the contract of infielder Rafael Lantigua. He will wear No.
