Phillies’ Nick Castellanos hires new agent ahead of uncertain offseason

Nick Castellanos has hired an agent ahead of an uncertain offseason for the Phillies outfielder.

After serving as his own agent over the past year, Castellanos has hired Mato Sports Management to represent him, a source confirmed to Phillies Nation on Thursday. Agent Gene Mato is also the representative for Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sánchez.

Castellanos, who previously severed ties with agent Scott Boras, will once again have an agent as his future in Philadelphia has come into question. Jon Heyman of the New York Post first reported the news of Castellanos’ decision to work with Mato Sports Management.
