Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Friday, Aug. 7:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A
After scoring a run to open the game in the top of the first, the IronPigs could not push another runner across the plate until the seventh inning in a 4-2 loss to Columbus.
Lehigh Valley could not find much run support to back up Jesse Biddle, who did not pitch poorly, but took his second loss since moving up to AAA. Biddle went five innings and gave up four earned runs on nine hits. It wasn’t his best start, but he did fan five in the loss.
