Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Monday, Aug. 31:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (62-75) – Triple A
The IronPigs pulled away from the Syracuse Chiefs during the sixth inning and earned an 8-3 victory at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y.
The IronPigs entered the sixth in a 3-3 tie with the Chiefs. After Tommy Joseph broke the tie by crossing the plate on a force out attempt, Jordan Danks hit a grand slam over the right field wall to give the IronPigs a comfortable lead.
Relief pitchers Chris Leroux and Nefi Ogando combined to allow only one hit over the final three frames to secure the victory.
