Phillies’ lack of power outside of Kyle Schwarber is stunning

As the rest of the Phillies offense struggles to hit for power, Kyle Schwarber has a chance to chase history.

The Phillies designated hitter clobbered his 24th home run of the season on Sunday Night Baseball against Mets left-hander David Peterson. He is on pace to hit exactly 50 home runs. He hit 46 and 47 respectively in 2022 and 2023, his first two seasons with the club. He has technically already reached 50 home runs in a season twice if you count postseason home runs.

Still, no Phillie has hit 50 home runs in the regular season since Ryan Howard led the league with 58 in 2006.
