Jose Ruiz (neck spasm)
Status: 15-day injured list, will begin rehab assignment on May 13 (retroactive to May 1)
Ruiz, minutes before the start of the May 3 game against the Diamondbacks, was placed on the IL with a neck spasm. The Phillies needed to clear a roster spot for Suárez, so the Phillies get to retain Ruiz — and reliever Carlos Hernandez — for now.
Ruiz will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday, May 13 with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
