Phillies fans have another intriguing rookie to follow in OF Matt Vierling.
First, it was Nick Maton, followed by Luke Williams, and now Matt Vierling — the latest Philadelphia Phillies hitting prospect to debut this season.
In his first MLB career plate appearance as a pinch-hitter opposite the San Francisco Giants on Saturday, Vierling logged a single to right field. He ended up scoring an important insurance run that sixth inning, giving the Phillies a two-run advantage in the eventual 13-6 victory.
