The Phillies’ pitching staff allowed just three runs on 23 hits during the three-game series and twice blanked the Braves, who entered the series as the National League’s top hitting team. Jake Arrieta got his first win in his last five starts by pitching 6 2/3 scoreless innings as the Phillies pulled to within a half-game of first place. The teams will not meet again until Sept.
