Phillies Former Outfielder Ben Revere Non-Tendered

Ben Revere was a big acquisition for the Phillies in the winter of 2012, and was expected to be the lead-off batter of the future. Sending Vance Worley and Trevor May to Minnesota, Philadelphia believed they could have a consistent .300 hitter with elite speed and defense in center field. Nearly a clone in their eyes to Shane Victorino.

Nearly four years since the trade, Revere finds himself looking for a home. Washington opted not to tender the outfielder a contract, making the 28-year-old a free agent. This could also create an opportunity for Washington to trade for Andrew McCutchen.
