PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies equipment truck leaves Friday for spring training in Clearwater, Florida. They will be taking 2,400 baseballs, 1,200 bats, and hundreds of batting gloves, batting helmets, T-shirts, and other items. That includes one Phanatic hot dog launcher, too.
Phillies pitchers and catchers have their first workout next Wednesday.
The Phillies play their first spring training game against the Tigers on Feb. 22.
