The Phillies didn’t ruin another holiday.
The offense scored 11 runs against one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, ace Zack Wheeler outdueled fellow Cy Young contender Brandon Woodruff and the Phillies picked up a half game on the idle Braves. Brad Miller added a 12th Phillies run with a home run off of Brewers catcher Luke Maile.
The 12-run Labor Day shellacking was a fitting backdrop for holiday celebrations all around the Delaware Valley.
