PHILADELPHIA — Nick Castellanos breathed new life into Citizens Bank Park as his nearly one-armed half-swing produced a two-run base hit down the line and his ill-advised dash to second base paid off in the form a missed tag by Dodgers infielder Tommy Edman. The Phillies were hurting for energy for most of Monday night’s Game 2 of the National League Division Series, and the right fielder’s 80.9 mph double to bring Philadelphia within one run sparked the announced crowd of 45,654 in the bottom of the ninth inning.
But just as the Phillies got oh-so close, the comeback attempt fell short.
