Phillies’ Bryce Harper Out Indefinitely After Suffering Broken Thumb In 4-2 Win Over Padres

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — It was a pitch that feels like the ultimate punishment for Phillies fans. Bryce Harper will be sidelined indefinitely with a broken left thumb after he was hit by a pitch from Blake Snell in the Phillies 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.

Harper saw the pitch coming towards his face and quickly turned his head and raised his left hand to protect himself. Turns out, Harper wishes he hadn’t.
