Phillies announce starters for Thursday’s doubleheader against Braves, with aces set to face off in nightcap

PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies will play their second doubleheader of the month on Thursday after a rainout on Wednesday night. The change in schedule will line up two aces to take the mound in the second game.

The Phillies will start left-hander Cristopher Sánchez in the opener, the team announced, with the game set to begin at 1:05 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. He’ll face off against the Braves’ AJ Smith-Shawver, according to MLB.com‘s Paul Casella.
