PHILADELPHIA — Otto Kemp’s torrid return from the minor leagues continued on Saturday night, and the rookie’s late surge could have a postseason impact.
Kemp went 1-for-3 with an RBI in an 8-6 win over the Royals at Citizens Bank Park. He drove a ball off the top of the wall in left-center field, sliding head-first into second for a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth inning. The right-handed hitter has swung a scorching bat since rejoining the majors, going 9-for-21 with three doubles, two home runs, two walks and a sacrifice fly in six games.
